Oh I see, makes sense, but has to be bad for performance. What about the butterfly in front of the passenger side manifold? Does it open on pressure?
It's supposed to open as the engine temperature comes up, much like a temperature controlled clutch fan, via a bi-metallic spring. They're frequently broken, frozen, etc. in old cars though. The main thing is to make sure it's in the open position. It's purpose was to promote faster warm-ups. And yes, the exhaust crossover in the front was simply a way to intergrate both sides into a single exhaust system as would a Y-pipe. Weird lookin', ain't it?

Its weird, but kinda cool. The spring or whatever is gone, it just has the plastic peice on it the spring was supposed to attatch to. Ill have to open it. When I took the crossover off to change the belt you SHOULD HAVE SEEN the CRAP that came out of that thing!

Ok Daffy, I think you might be correct about the trigger wire. I started jumping the solenoid Friday, and it started to turn over. I need to get a new coil on it now though, theres no spark and I just tuned it up, so it must be the coil. Hopefully I can get it on tomarrow. If itss not that wire, it must be the ignition switch itself.

I would attach a test lite to the two studs on the coil and see if it flashes while someone turns the engine over. If it doesn't, something besides the coil is screwed up
