Honda CRX Si
1984-1991
Introduction: The Honda CRX was Honda's first two seat sporty car since the '60's.
Based on a shortened Civic platform, it was underpowered at first, but that would
soon change with the introduction of the Si model. In its short life, it firmly
established the new breed of import performance car.
1984 Honda CRX
Comments: The Honda CRX debuted as a two seat sporty coupe based on the
Honda Civic. Its short wheelbase and low weight still was too much for its relatively
small and weak engines. True performance would come a year later.
Engines: DX: 1.5 liter I4 76 bhp @ 5500 rpm, 84 lb-ft @ 6500 rpm.

1985 Honda CRX
Comments: The Honda CRX finally got some real power with the introduction of the Si model
in 1985. The Si's engine received Electronic Fuel Injection (as opposed to lesser
models' Carb) which raised horsepower from 76 bhp to a more respectable 91 bhp.
Engines: Si: 1.5 liter I4 91 bhp @ 5500 rpm, 93 lb-ft @ 4500 rpm.
Performance: Si: 0-60 in 8.7 seconds, 1/4 mile in 16.2 seconds.
1986 Honda CRX
Comments: The Si continued on for 1986 relatively unchanged.
Engines: Si: 1.5 liter I4 91 bhp @ 5500 rpm, 93 lb-ft @ 4500 rpm.
Performance: Si: 0-60 in 8.7 seconds, 1/4 mile in 16.2 seconds.

Comments: The Si continued on for 1987 relatively unchanged.

Comments: The Honda CRX Si was basically carryover for 1991, the last year
that it would be sold in the U.S. The CRX would be reborn a few years later
in the U.S. as the CRX Del Sol.
